On Saturday, Jan. 14 and Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, London?s School for Oriental and African Studies will host its first (!) annual Arabic poetry festival.
Poetry will be translated, organizers say, and readings will be staged in Arabic and translated to English.

We, the Arabic Poetry Society in the School of Oriental and African Studies, are honored to invite you to attend the First Annual Arabic Poetry Festival.?This festival will have some of the most prominant contemperory Arab Poets present from a variety of countries:

On the first night, attendees will also have an opportunity to recite their own poems. Tickets for the full weekend festival will be ?20 and for each individual day ?12. Dinner is included.
