Last month our family and friends hosted the most sweetest and most beautiful pink and green baby shower for Baby Girl and I, and it was truly the most wonderful celebration! ?
My parents were in town from Washington, D.C. and we were joined by friends and family from all over. ?What made the shower really special was that it was the day before Mother's Day, my very first, and it was so nice to celebrate such a happy occasion with my own mother, mother in law, aunts, cousins, and dear friends. ?
We lunched on delicious gourmet sandwiches, a fresh summery salad with poppy seed dressing, homemade kettle chips with blue cheese drizzle, and Creole shrimp pasta with spinach and tomatoes. ?For dessert was the absolutely darling cake above, by Swiss Confectionery in New Orleans, that featured the most amazing fresh strawberry filling. ?The little porcelain baby on the cake was Matt's mother's, which was on her baby shower cake for Matt...so sweet!My friends know me so well with all of the pink, pom poms and Lilly decorations, don't they? ?The flowers were so beautifully selected and arranged by sweet Melanie, and there were the most delicate and darling Lilly and pink and green touches everywhere. ?From the Lilly paper napkins, to the striped pink paper straws, bows galore and everything in between. ?I was so appreciative of all of their thoughtfulness!

This is an adorable wrist corsage that my mother in law had made for me. ?She had worn a similar one at her baby shower for Matt as well. ?The little rosettes are made out of sweet little baby socks! ?I wore the Lilly Pulitzer Cherry Dress and it was so cute and comfortable.
We received so many thoughtful gifts! ?
I just had to include the picture of Matt modeling my diaper bag. ?He is such a ham :)?

My two sweet sister in laws provided the shower favors, which were a fun homemade surprise...Trish's "Pregnancy Pickles!" ?The labels, which matched the invitations, read "Trish's Pregnancy Pickles...Just add Ice Cream." ? Sweet and spicy pickles with jalapenos...too cute - and delicious I might add!?
It was such a memorable day, and I was so thankful to be surrounded by so many wonderful people that love and care for us so much. ?I cannot wait for Baby Girl to finally meet all of her family and our fabulous friends! ?
2 weeks left to go...hooray!!
